💁‍♀Michael Mann
                    ↪️The source of social power
He argued  :
👉Non existence of society - Human behaviour is not exclusive and impacted by different particular territory in which he lives.
In modern world, mass media impacts in many ways.
Example -Britain can be consider as country or military alliance NATO or part of economic EU grouping.
So it is difficult to define society and throughout history, there has never been an isolated society. His idea of power is ability to pursue and attain goals through mastery of the environment
👉Power can be two types:
1) Distributiional power-
in this one individual exercises his power by influencing or helping or ordering  others individual to attain their goals.
2)Connected power-
It is exercised by one social group over one another like one nation over another nation.
👉Two ways of power can exercised:
1)Extensive power:
It is ability to organise large number of people over far flunged territories in order to engage in minimal stable cooperation.
Example-Major Religions
2)Intensive power:
Ability to organise and command high level of mobilisation or commitment from their participants or social networks.
Example - Religious sect, friends
👉Tells about authoritative and diffused power
--Authoritative power
↪️is excercised when deliberate commands are issued and are conscious decision to follow them.
Example : football referee give the instruction to player.
--Diffused power
↪️spread in more spontaneous or situation way and involves power relationships or ones which operate without commands being issued.
Example : a company stopping business not because of someone command it to but because it is unable to compete.
So, Michael Mann ideas are broader than Karl Marx and others as
--Karl Marx stresses on economic power.
--Pluralism stresses on  ideological power in democracy.
--Elite and State Centered theories emphasis on political power.
His Broader ideas have sources of power as:
--Economic
--Ideological
--Political
--Military
